- Organise and label: Before you move everything into your unit, we’d recommend organising it and packing it neatly. Labelling each box with the contents is always a good idea – it’ll make life much easier when you need to retrieve something from your unit.
- Pick the right containers: Different containers are suited to different items; storing books is quite different to storing clothes, for instance. Take a look at our Advice Hub for more information, or speak to a member of our team for help choosing the right containers.
- Invest in a secure padlock: Make sure that only you have access to your unit by adding a secure padlock. We can supply a range of different models to fit your budget!

Do I need my own insurance?
We would highly recommend taking out insurance on your items – our insurance will not cover them should anything happen. If you have home and contents insurance, they may already be covered, so this is worth checking first. If not, we can help you arrange cover.
How often will I be able to access my lock up self storage unit?
As often as you like! Three access options are available: during regular opening hours, extended hours (from 6am to 8pm, every day) or 24/7 access. However, you can visit your unit as often as you like during the hours you select.
