- Get organised. Declutter and your possessions beforehand and have a clearout – there’s no need to store items you don’t need!
- Choose the right packaging. Storing clothing, books or any other items that are susceptible to mould growth or could be easily damaged by moisture? Make sure you choose durable, airtight plastic containers.
- Label everything. Write the contents of each box on a label and stick it to the box. That way, when you next go to retrieve items from your unit, you’ll know exactly where everything is. You’ll thank ‘future you’ for putting in that bit of extra effort – the more well organised your unit, the better.
